Chris Wales: Remembering the ‘boy from Basildon’

Jane Duffelen has asked us to thank all those who have remembered Chris Wales:

“On behalf of Chris’ family and I, please thank everyone who posted so many lovely comments and to those who so kindly sent cards and letters, all of which gave us some comfort at an incredibly sad time.

“We’d also like to thank everyone who made such a special effort to attend the service – Chris would have been touched to see how many friends and colleagues came all that way – and amazed at all the tributes.  As Allan [Edmondson] so rightly said: “he really didn’t know how good he was” and a part of him would have not believed how much people thought of ‘just a boy from Basildon’.

“Thanks also for the donations received at the service and also sent to Smiths.”

• CTA members will have a further chance to make a donation in memory of Chris at the Conference in February which will have a special raffle and auction to raise more money for the Peterborough City Hospital Oncology Ward.

A lovely selection of photos of Chris Wales has been collated by Stuart Render on his website. Take a look and remember the ‘Legend’.
