Mersey Ferries is launching an exciting new cruise product for 2020 following a successful trial this year with 14 Liverpool Bay Cruises scheduled between June and August.
The three-hour sightseeing cruise into Liverpool Bay offers breathtaking views from the deck of a Mersey Ferry. During the three-hour cruise, groups will enjoy great scenery and learn more about the history and geography of the River Mersey and Liverpool Bay with expert commentary from a Blue Badge Guide.
The route includes views of Royal Seaforth Docks, Fort Perch Rock at New Brighton and along the Crosby Channel towards Blundellsands and Formby.
This special sightseeing cruise will also give groups the chance to see Anthony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ art installation at Crosby from the river. ‘Another Place’ consists of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along 3km of the foreshore, stretching almost 1km out to sea.
On the return journey back into Liverpool from the mouth of the river and the Irish Sea, the ferry will follow the journey of many cruise liners and ships, past and present, allowing groups to experience the feeling of sailing into Liverpool.
The cruise will feature live music from local artists and there will be a licensed bar on board with a selection of snacks and drinks available to buy throughout the cruise.
Mersey Ferries also has 2020 sailing dates for its Manchester Ship Canal Cruise on sale with special group rates. This full-day cruise takes in the scenery of the canal leaving passengers with an awe-inspiring sense of how the canal’s construction shaped the city of Manchester and the north west of England.
Groups go on a journey through locks and under bridges mostly unchanged since they were built over 125 years ago and witness the panoramic views as they cruise along the Mersey Estuary.
Liverpool Bay group rate for 20+ people – £16 per person.
Manchester Ship Canal Cruise group rate 20+ people – £39 per person for groups organising their own transport or £42 per person for groups using the coach.
